Color Me Mine Studio located in Studio City was the host to Linda Blair’s recent fundraiser. Along with their partners; Color Me Mine in Porter Ranch, they help Linda Blair in her quest to raise funds to build her dream rescue/educational facility for animals via the Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation.
The event was held Sunday, June 11th 11-7 and launched Blair;s "Born Innocent: An American Crisis” campaign to help end pet overpopulation and animal abuse, all proceeds went to benefit the welfare. Everyone had fun painting and besides Linda Blair herself, other celebrities coming down to show their support included Fritz Coleman of NBC-4 News, The Hope Family Estate’s Jack O’Neill, Duff McKagan (G ‘n R, Velvet Revolver), Lizzy Borden’s Marten Andersson, Dyna Shirasaki and Andrea Zermeno from ThundHerStruck (All Girl tribute to AC/DC), actress Beverly Garland (“My Three Sons” and Linda’s mother in “Roller Boogie”!), Councilman Dennis P. Zine (who presented Linda with a Proclamation and a donation check from the City!), KNAC.COM’s Junkman, Foreigner’s Kelly Hansen, Stuart Smith (Sweet, Heaven & Earth) and All Access Magazine.com Editor-In-Chief Debra Stocker along with John Green.
The public was encouraged to set up painting times and many did. The participation to support the fundraiser include painting bisque pieces such as dog bowls and figurines, instruction by qualified staff, and glazing and firing of your work of art. The event also featured silent auctions, drawings, door prizes and more. It’s was a fun filled day for the whole family!
About Linda Blair:
As a child, LINDA BLAIR appeared in almost 100 commercials. During that time she also took up horseback riding, beginning her extraordinary love for animals. In 1973, she was cast as the lead in the cult classic “The Exorcist”, nominated for the Academy
Award, and won both the Golden Globe and the People’s Choice awards. Blair has over 50 movies (including "Roller Boogie", “Born Innocent” and "Exorcist II: The Heretic" with the legendary Richard Burton) and television shows to her credit, and she recently starred in “Monster Makers” for The Hallmark Channel. Blair has dedicated her life to animal rights and welfare and is internationally respected for her tireless efforts to give a voice to those that cannot speak for themselves. She finally reached her lifetime dream of incorporating the non-profit Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation. Through her organization she rescues dogs and cats from local L.A. shelters Death Rows and provides medical care until they find a new loving home. She continues to educate the public on pet adoption, fostering, animal welfare and non-animal dietary choices (she penned “Going Vegan” in 2003). She has been the proud recipient of PETA’s Humanitarian Award, Animal Rights 2001 Celebrity Advocate of the Year and the Helen Woodward Animal Centers 2003 Humane Award.
