Dead End Jane gave an outstanding performance at the Whisky a Go Go on Friday, June 10 in the presence of strong company that included Hollywood Allstarz, Revlon Red, and Neverwonder. Dead End Jane is all originals, not a cover band with influences that include AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Ray Vaughn, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, and the Pornos. Their roots are about getting back to making great music. Dead End Jane’s leading the way with hard rock in your face matched with attitude that’s accompanied by great instrumental, vocals, and material. Dead End Jane performed songs from their debut album Nicotine Queen which flows well and is commercially successful with airplay in the United States, Germany, Australia, Greece, and Argentina. There is airplay of the title track on Southern California’s 97.1 along with several songs from Nicotine Queen being played on college radio.
With Bourke Armour, (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) from Malibu, and a trio of European musicians that include Bastian Kirchdoerfer (Germany), drums, Freddy Ramberg (Norway), guitar and Johan Lindh (Sweden), bass; this band with an international flavor met at the Los Angeles Music Academy where they all graduated from in 2004. This meeting resulted in Dead End Jane’s birth slightly over a year and a half ago. Currently Dead End Jane is preparing for their next show which is 7-29 at the Knitting Factory, and their European tour which starts with traveling around Germany in August for both the Breaker Festival and the Rockharz Open Air Festival. Meanwhile, Dead End Jane is auditioning for a new guitar player since Freddy Ramberg is departing the band because of scheduling problems due to his membership in another band that is negotiating a major label deal. Speaking of getting signed, Dead End Jane is ready. For a young hard rock guitar player looking for a serious band with chops and great attitude; this is a great opportunity.
Dead End Jane have already played the major Hollywood Clubs including the Viper Room, the Roxy Theatre, the Cat Club, Knitting Factory, The Joint, The Gig, and Molly Malone’s along with B. B. Kings and Hard Rock Café at Universal City Walk and Zen Sushi. Select colleges and playing in Arizona has kept Dead End Jane busy with an impressive resume being only the beginning for this band. They recently had to turn down a gig with Body Count (Ice-T’s band) due to scheduling conflicts and have also opened up for the Atomic Punks, Chris Slade (AC/DC), The Allstar Big Ball, Teddy Zig-Zag (Guns N’ Roses), Rusty Anderson (Paul McCartney’s guitarist), and have been in Club Vodka shows. Dead End Jane was recently nominated for Best Rock Act, Best Rock CD, Best Live Performance, and Best Lead Singer in the South Bay Music Awards. With Dead End Jane’s goal being world domination in a good way; this will be a band to keep your eye on. With songs like “The Reptile,” “Rodeo,” and their title track “Nicotine Queen,” it’s just a matter of time before Dead End Jane gets signed being an outstanding band with talent well beyond their years.
