CD Review

Musically Hitchcock Circus have forged a unique niche, melding straight ahead rock, some progressive, with tinges of R&B and a bit of synth pop and space. Their 'Self-titled' debut is filled melodic hooks and hard rock guitar that will get your adrenaline pumping in no time flat. I am glad that there are bands like Hitchcock Circus generating good rock and roll music for the maturing generation Xers. The album gets off to a great start with the song "Dirty Girl" which is my personal favorite on the disc. The song reminded of Donnie Iris' classic, "Oh Leah". This is a great song that has great lyrics and just never seems to get old. "Don't Tread On Me" is track number two. This is another fine rocker that has a great beat and had a lot of emotion put into it by the band. The song "Song For A Friend" is another one of my favorites on the disc. This is a great rock album. It has a mellow side to it, with deep emotional lyrics with "Outside Your World". It also has a straight up rock n roll side and also a post grunge type of feel to it with the songs served up for the rocker in all of us. Hitchcock Circus has the potential for greatness. Hitchcock Cirus is definitely worth your undivided attention.
