CD Review
Cattywompus is an amazing band that has very bright future ahead of them. Solid musicianship, tight harmonies and a unique sound combine to make this band a real treat for the listener weary of much that appears on the radio today. The band is powered by, Jonathan Lennartz: Vocals Aaron Bateman: Guitar, John Webber: Drums, James Webber: Bass/Vocals Kevin Webber "The Witch Doctor": Percussion (Spirit Guide). All 6 tracks on 'Wildfire' are strong and hook-laden, never resorting to filler. Don't be expecting heavy riffs and screaming because this album has a very laid-back feel to it that will win you over once you hit play. As the boys serve up on tracks like, "Tumbleweed Blues" ,"Dog Town", "Black Heaven" and the groove laden mover "Day Between the Rains". Fans of both acoustic rock and classic rock should find something to satisfy them on this accomplished debut. It's a shame Cattywompus hasn't become more of a radio presence, for they are one of the better up and coming bands out on the scene today. I would definetly recommend this album to any rock fan in general. I hope Cattywompus continue to explore their music together and grow as a band, because if 'Wildfire' is any indication of what's to come it's going to be one hell of a ride.
