CD Review
By Dedicated Rocker Productions
Canadian power rock trio DANKO JONES are back and they are back with one hell of an attitude! The band's latest release, 'SLEEP IS THE ENEMY', will knock you on your ass once you hit play. On the band's two previous releases, 'Born A Lion' and 'We Sweat Blood', Danko Jones gave fair warning to the world that they are here to stay! 'SLEEP IS THE ENEMY' will simply make your jaw drop. IT'S A JUGGERNAUT! I shit you not, this is Danko Jones doing what he does best, rocking with unbridled passion and reckless abandon. The production on 'SLEEP IS THE ENEMY'is as tight as a virgin on her wedding night, yet not messing with the rawness and bad ass power of Danko Jones' sound. There will be those who are going to compare Danko Jones with other bands, as far as describing the band's sound. The most obvious is AC/DC mostly because of the sheer bare-bones power-chord energy mixed with fiery blues heart and soul. But make no mistake, Danko Jones have a sound that is all its own. As is evident from the moment you hit play (its like pulling a pin from a grenade) and "Sticky Situation" explodes like a bat out of hell, from your speakers. Other songs that will shake your foundation, are the lead off single, "First Date", the balls out rocker, "Baby Hates Me" and the guitar laden super prime movers, "Don't Fall In Love" and "The Finger". Danko's message with 'SLEEP IS THE ENEMY' is perfectly clear and to the point; women are dangerous and addictive. 'SLEEP IS THE ENEMY' is a balls out rocker of a release that will finally give Danko Jones, the recognition and respect that they truly deserve. If you like loud, guitar riffs, this is the album for you. Forget the garbage on the radio, THIS is rock 'n roll. If you wanna get YOUR ROCKS OFF BIG TIME, get your hands on Danko Jones' 'SLEEP IS THE ENEMY', pop it in your player and crank it to the MAXIMUM. Warn the neighbors!
