This band is killer.
Children of Bodom have recently finished a successful headlining tour in The States and have started the New Year off right by beginning the European leg of the world tour. Supporting their fifth studio release Are You Dead Yet?- this highly energetic band of beer drinkers and hell raisers are just moving into their prime after being together ten years. What’s more, these five Finns are playing heavy music that is really good …brutal, memorable, and makes you really happy that you went out to see their show.
For those lucky 1,000 some-odd metalheads who saw the show Children of Bodom played in Hollywood, it would be a safe bet that the majority of them left the place happy and hearing impaired …at least temporarily by the very loud, melodically murderous, but well balanced sound. Their music exhibits elements of thrash,
death and black metal, and the band has one of the most amazing guitarists in the business, Alexi Laiho. Their material is guitar-heavy and Laiho tastefully carries the vocal duties for the band as well. Seeing this kid throw down a sick, lightning fast lead and wow the audience, and even his own band mates is refreshing and fun to watch.
The sets that were played from supporting bands Trivium and Amon Amarth were outstanding and set the mood right for Children of Bodom.
